Can we make up the classes we’ve missed?
Because Culture Kids/Craft and Kitchen sessions take place in high quality venues that are cost-prohibitive and because we employ high-calibre teaching staff, we need our clients to commit to the full term to ensure that we cover our costs.
Can we enrol for a part of a term or take a break during term time and only pay for the sessions we attend?
Unfortunately we cannot enrol children for part terms or offer one-off classes for the same reason mentioned above.
Can we swap classes during the current term?
Sadly you cannot swap classes. This is due to the fact that we keep the sessions to a strict maximum number of children per class to ensure that each of the children receive an equal share of the teacher’s attention.
Can siblings attend sessions?
Babies under the age of a year may attend Culture Kids (music) sessions for free with an older sibling that is participating in class. However children over the age of a year are charged at a further £10.00 per each child. Older siblings are not permitted. WE DO NOT ALLOW ANY NON-PARTICIPATING SIBLINGS TO ATTEND CULTURE CRAFT OR CULTURE KITCHEN SESSIONS DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS.
Can grandparents/aunts and uncles come and watch a session?
Of course, we’d love for them to see what their little ones are getting up to.
Can I pay by credit/debit card?
Not at the moment. We prefer cheques but cash is also accepted.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Just your child and a sense of fun.
Are there any rules to adhere to when attending classes?
- Both you and your child must be wearing socks to Culture Kids sessions as we have a strict no-bare feet policy. If you forget your socks you may purchase a pair from the teacher at the cost of £1: all proceeds are donated to F.R.O.G.S. (Friends Of Gambian Schools).
- Please ensure that your mobile phone is in silent mode at all times during class. Please also refrain from answering any calls too.
- Please do not eat, or feed your child during the session. Please also refrain from bringing in any hot drinks into class.
- If you or your child is sick or contagious please do not come to class.
- Please ensure that you arrive five minutes before the time your class is due to commence.
- Please keep conversation to a minimum during class.
When do I pay?
Please make sure that you fill in a new registration form and hand it in along with your term fees to the teacher before the last session of the term before. If you have not paid or filled in the registration form on time, you will not be guaranteed a place in your desired class. A session can only be booked once this has been received.
Can I drop my child at the class and leave the venue for the duration of the session?
No, your child remains your responsibility AT ALL TIMES.
Does my child need to wear any special clothing?
For Culture Kids music classes it is advised that your child wears something comfortable. For Culture Craft and Culture Kitchen they are supplied an apron for the session by us.
Does my child need to speak in English?
No, though it obviously helps if they are to get the most out of class and be able to interact with the other children.
